Expected application peak occurred at the turn of June and July

We predicted last week that application volumes would increase at the turn of June and July – and the forecast proved accurate.

On Monday, 30 June, the unemployment fund received 419 new and adjusted applications, and on Tuesday, 1 July, a total of 402. Altogether, 821 applications were received over the two days.

The increase in application volumes was expected, and preparations had been made in advance. During the week, we processed a total of 920 applications, allowing processing to continue at a good pace despite the exceptionally high number of incoming applications.

For adjusted applications, we are already processing applications received at the turn of June and July. For first-time applications, processing has advanced to applications received on 22 June.

The high application volumes from the turn of June and July are still visible in the processing status for adjusted follow-up applications. However, once these busiest application days have been processed, the dates shown in the status tracking will begin to move forward more quickly again.

Will submitting a follow-up application soon be relevant for you? This week, we will publish guidance on how to complete and submit a follow-up application. Next week, we will once again provide an update on the processing situation and explain how processing is progressing during the middle of the summer.
