Processing has progressed well despite the application peak
The high volume of applications received at the turn of July and August has now been processed. Last week, we also received fewer applications than during the previous week.
As expected, the unemployment fund received a large number of applications at the turn of the month. Processing has nevertheless progressed at a good pace, and the busiest application days have already been handled.
Last week, application volumes levelled off, and a total of 717 applications were received. Of these, 306 were first-time applications and 411 were follow-up applications requiring manual processing.
We are currently processing first-time applications received on 1 August 2026 and adjusted follow-up applications received on 4 August 2026. The intake processing time for first-time applications is just over one week, and 6 days for adjusted follow-up applications.
Many people start studies in the autumn – remember to report your studies
If you start studying while unemployed, notify the employment authority without delay. The employment authority will assess how your studies affect your entitlement to unemployment benefits and will issue a statement to the unemployment fund. Remember to also inform the fund about the start of your studies in your application.
Not all studies prevent you from receiving earnings-related allowance, but their impact on your unemployment benefit entitlement must always be assessed.
