Instructions for using the calculator when unemployment begins

How to use the calculator when you want to estimate the amount of daily allowance after becoming unemployed:

  • Select “Calculate based on monthly earnings” as the calculation method. Enter your gross monthly salary.
  • If you have social benefits that are deducted from the daily allowance, enter them in the Social Benefits section.
  • The calculator will give you an estimate of the full daily allowance amount as well as the amount after the first and second staggering.
Instructions for using the calculator to estimate adjusted daily allowance

How to use the calculator when you already know your full daily allowance and want to estimate the impact of income from part-time work, occasional work, or secondary business activities:

  • Select “Calculate based on daily allowance” as the calculation method. Enter the full, non-staggered daily allowance amount in the Daily Allowance field. Do this even if your allowance has already been staggered.
  • Enter your estimated income from part-time work, occasional work, or secondary business activities in the Income field.
  • If you have social benefits that are deducted from the daily allowance, enter them in the Social Benefits section.
  • The calculator will then provide an estimate of the adjusted daily allowance amount before staggering, after the first staggering, and after the second staggering.
