Membership in the unemployment fund
This application form is intended only for members of the Union of Research Professionals and those applying for membership. If you are not yet a member of the Union of Research Professionals, please complete the union’s membership application first. When you belong to the Unemployment Fund Ote through the Union of Research Professionals, you pay the unemployment fund membership fee as part of the union’s membership fee.
I want to join the Unemployment Fund Ote
An employee in paid work can join the Unemployment Fund Ote if they have completed higher education or equivalent specialised training, are studying towards such a qualification, or work in a role that requires this level of education. Those working solely on a grant cannot join the unemployment fund.
Please complete the membership form below. Note that you cannot join the unemployment fund retroactively. Membership can start at the earliest on the date your application is received by the fund. Payment of the membership fee is a prerequisite for starting and maintaining membership.
Once we have processed your application, you will receive a notification of whether your membership has been approved or rejected.

With this same form, you can also indicate if you are already a member of the Unemployment Fund Ote, either directly (as an individual member) or through another trade union, and wish to continue your membership via the Union of Research Professionals.
Once we have processed your application, you will receive confirmation regarding the continuation of your unemployment fund membership.
