Paying the membership fee as an individual member

The unemployment fund sends an annual membership fee invoice to individual members in the spring. The full amount for the current year is paid in one instalment. When paying the invoice, you can order an e-invoice through your online bank.

The membership fee invoices for 2026 have been sent. If you have not received your invoice by 20 April 2026, or if you have any questions about the invoice you have received, you can contact us via the messaging function in Otenetti.

Paying the membership fee via a trade union

If you belong to Unemployment Fund Ote through a trade union, you pay the unemployment fund membership fee together with your trade union membership fee. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide advice on trade union membership fee matters. If you have any questions about your membership fees, please contact your trade union’s member services directly.

Keep your details up to date

Check and update your contact information in the Otenetti service to ensure you continue receiving messages from Unemployment Fund Ote at the correct address. You can update your details in Otenetti under Personal information > Contact data.

The membership fee must be paid for every month of membership

There are no exemptions from the membership fee for any reason while you are a member. This means the fee must also be paid during periods of unemployment, study, or family leave. Members who belong to a trade union will receive instructions on paying the membership fee from their own union. If necessary, check with your union how the fee is paid during non-salaried periods.

Failure to pay the membership fee does not constitute a notice of resignation. Resignation must always be submitted in writing.

The membership fee is to be paid within three months from the beginning of the month to which the fee applies. If you fail to pay the membership fees for more than three months, you will be expelled from the fund as of the date from which the fees have remained unpaid.

The membership fee must be paid for the entire month even in situations where you join the unemployment fund, resign, or are expelled in the middle of a calendar month. A member who has resigned or been expelled is not entitled to a refund of membership fees paid for periods prior to the resignation or expulsion date.

A refund of the membership fee for a period not covered by membership will be made upon written request. Please remember to include the bank account number to which the refund can be paid. The request must be submitted to the fund within three months. Amounts under €10 will not be refunded.

If you join our fund from another unemployment fund and have already paid the membership fee for the year to your previous fund, any possible refund of the membership fee will be determined in accordance with the rules of each unemployment fund.

The membership fee for Unemployment Fund Ote is tax-deductible. The fund automatically reports the paid membership fee to the tax authority.
