Please notify us using the form below if you have been a member of the Unemployment Fund Ote through a trade union and have been expelled from the trade union due to unpaid membership fees. Carefully read the instructions on this page and also review the page Expulsion from the fund.

Important information

A trade union cannot expel you from the unemployment fund. If you have been a member of the Unemployment Fund Ote through a trade union and were expelled from the trade union due to unpaid membership fees, you still have the option to retain your unemployment fund membership if you wish. Retaining membership in the unemployment fund requires payment of the outstanding membership fees.

If you want your trade union membership to be reinstated, contact your former trade union as soon as possible. Also notify the fund using this form.

Please use this form to indicate if you wish to continue solely as a member of the Unemployment Fund Ote, without trade union membership. The unemployment fund provides its members exclusively with advice and services related to earnings-related allowance, mobility allowance, and transition security allowance, and pays these benefits to members who are entitled to them. Individual members of the fund are not entitled to benefits offered by the trade union, such as the services of a shop steward, the organisation’s magazine or insurance, and the fund’s services do not include advocacy.

If you fail to pay the unemployment fund membership fees for more than three months, you will be expelled from the unemployment fund from the date on which the fees have remained unpaid. Before the expulsion decision, you will be heard on the matter and given an opportunity to pay the outstanding membership fees.

What happens if you are expelled from the unemployment fund?

  • The unemployment fund membership will end. If expulsion occurs due to unpaid membership fees, the membership will end retroactively (you will be expelled as of the date from which the fees have remained unpaid).
  • Any benefits paid by the fund will be reclaimed from the date of expulsion.
  • You will lose any earnings-related allowance period that may have started before expulsion, as well as accrued membership and employment periods.
  • In cases of switching funds, membership and employment periods will not transfer to the new fund if you have been expelled from the previous one.

Expulsion from the unemployment fund may therefore lead to recovery of previously paid benefits (such as earnings-related allowance) and loss of entitlement to allowance, even if you are already a member of another unemployment fund.

If you rejoin the unemployment fund after expulsion, the fund can only pay allowance once the membership and employment conditions have been met again.

Unemployment fund membership

If you come to an agreement with the trade union about the reinstatement of your membership, you must pay the missing membership fees to the union. In this case, your membership of the unemployment fund will continue through the trade union.

If you want to continue only as a member of the Unemployment Fund Ote, you must pay the missing membership fees to the unemployment fund. The unemployment fund will give you the instructions on how to pay your missing membership fees.

If you do not pay the missing membership fees, you will be expelled from the unemployment fund starting from the date on which the fees became outstanding.
