Resignation notice
Notify us of your resignation if you have joined another unemployment fund, retired, or wish to resign from Unemployment Fund Ote for any other reason.
Please note that:
- When resigning from a trade union, you do not need to resign from the unemployment fund; you can continue as an individual member of the fund. In 2026, the membership fee for Unemployment Fund Ote is €5.25 per month (€63.00 per year).
- You do not need to resign from the fund even if you take up paid work in a different sector than when you originally joined.
- If you change unemployment funds, first send a membership application to the new fund and notify Unemployment Fund Ote of your resignation only after you have received confirmation of your new membership.
- If you start a business, you do not necessarily need to resign from the unemployment fund immediately.
- If you move abroad, check whether it is necessary to continue your membership in Unemployment Fund Ote.
Important information
When resigning from Unemployment Fund Ote, membership fees must be paid up to the date of resignation. If you have been a member through a trade union, you will receive instructions for paying the membership fee from your union. Failure to pay membership fees may result in expulsion from the fund, and any benefits paid by the fund may be reclaimed from the date of expulsion.
If you have been a member of Unemployment Fund Ote through a trade union, you must also notify your trade union of your resignation.
If, after resigning from Unemployment Fund Ote, you join another wage earners’ fund within one month, your periods of employment and insured membership during your time with Unemployment Fund Ote will be credited to you. This requires that you have paid membership fees up to the date of resignation. Unemployment security will never transfer in cases where you have been expelled from your previous fund due to non-payment of membership fees or fraudulent activity.
