More information on the processing of application
The processing time of applications is influenced by several factors, including whether the application is an initial application or a follow‑up application, and whether work has been performed, wages paid, or changes have occurred in the applicant’s situation during the application period. In addition, the overall processing situation affects how quickly applications can be taken into processing.
The application processing status is updated on the website daily
We update the current application processing status on the front page of our website every weekday morning. We indicate the dates of receipt of initial applications, follow‑up applications, and adjusted follow‑up applications that are currently being processed.
If you submitted your application before the date shown on the website and your application has not yet been processed, it is likely that the processing of your application is still ongoing.
Different application types and their processing
In the “Now processing” section shown on the front page, applications are divided into initial applications, follow‑up applications, and adjusted follow‑up applications.
A first application refers to an application submitted when you are applying for earnings‑related unemployment allowance for the first time or when more than six months have passed since your previous application period. The first application form is more extensive than the follow‑up application form, and therefore its processing time is usually longer than that of a follow‑up application.
After the first application, a follow‑up application is submitted. If no work has been performed, no adjusted income has been received, and no other changes have occurred during the application period, the application is often processed on the same day.
An adjusted follow‑up application applies if, during the adjustment period, you have received income from part‑time work, occasional work, or secondary self‑employment, or if you have worked hours during the application period. Some adjusted follow‑up applications are processed automatically by a system immediately upon receipt by the Fund, while others are processed manually in the order of arrival.
Otenetti automatically provides the correct type of application form to be completed.
Applications submitted by means other than electronically are always processed manually when they reach their turn for processing.
Where can I see the status of my application?
You can view the status of your application in Otenetti under Application monitoring → Application processing status.
The application you have submitted may have one of the following statuses:
- Arrived
- In processing
- Waiting for additional information
- Processed
If your application is in the Waiting for additional information status, you should have received a request for additional information or a notification explaining what the processing of your application is waiting for in the Messages section.
When will I receive my daily allowance?
Once your application has been processed, the daily allowance will be paid into your account within two banking days. Banking days are days on which banks process payments. Banking days are therefore weekdays when banks are open. Weekends and public holidays are not banking days.
Below is an example of payment dates.
| Decision issued | Pais to applicant | Note! |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday, 20 January 2026 | Thursday, 22 January 2026 | with no weekends or public holidays in between |
| Wednesday, 29 April 2026 | Monday, 4 May 2026 | May Day and a weekend fall in between |
